UX Manchester Conference

UX Manchester Conference

Some of our creative guys attended the third annual conference organised and run by the Northern User Experience (NUX) in partnership with Manchester Digital. NUX is an informal community for people interested in usability, information design and all aspects of the user experience in the North of England – so we’re especially looking forward to it.

Our very own Head of UX Adam Brock, Lead Designer Steve Arnold and Director Gez Daring were among the 500 delegates who went to the all-day event at the Royal Northern Collage of Music in Manchester.

They heard some extremely interesting talks by a variety of speakers.

The day was a great success from the very first presentation by Ben Holliday who talked about his experience as the Head of UX for the government’s department for work and pensions to the keynote speaker Peter Morville President of Semantic Studios who’s inspiring and insightful talk on ‘The Architecture of Understanding’ transcended the world of web usability and delved into the philosophy and science of human nature and behaviour.

Our director Gez Daring said: “It’s been great that so many people came to Manchester to discuss UX. It’s impressive how much the event has grown since last year. One of the common themes was about the gap between what people say they want and what they actually do. This is something we see often when looking at how users interact with the web.”
